Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee 37th Senatorial District
WE > me.
Lisa Machi-Baldis was first elected to the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee in 2022, representing the 37th Senatorial District, and was re-elected in 2026 with the endorsement of the Allegheny County Democratic Committee.
Her path to the State Committee started with Lisa serving as District Representative, Secretary and later Vice Chair of the Moon Township Democratic Committee. She also served as Vice President of the Catherine Baker Knoll Democratic Women’s Club, an Allegheny County club within the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women.
Her public service is deeply rooted in Moon Township. Lisa serves on the Moon Township Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the Cable TV Advisory Board. She previously served on the Moon Township Dog Park Committee, helping make the Moon Township Dog Park a reality.
At Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs, she chaired their Fund Development Committee, served on their Advisory Board, and worked as their GED Coordinator and tutor, while also serving on many other committees. Through it all, Lisa has always kept the Mooncrest community close to her heart and soul.
In 2024, Lisa represented Pennsylvania as a delegate for Presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
Lisa is proudly union strong and a lifelong advocate for workers’ rights, reproductive freedom and LGBTQ+ equality. She is humbled by the support of unions and elected officials who share her commitment to Democratic values.
Lisa believes relationships are sustained not by always agreeing, but by how we disagree and how we choose to move forward. She believes uncomfortable conversations only become comfortable when we are willing to have them with respect, honesty and an open mind.
That belief carries into both her personal life and her political work. Lisa truly believes in WE > me. She believes in showing up, doing the work, listening to others, finding common ground where possible and always moving onward.

The Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee is the governing body of the state party. It sets the party’s direction and organizes for Democrats across the ballot.
Members are elected by Democratic voters in the primary, in the same year Pennsylvania elects a governor, at-large by county. Lisa is one of the members chosen by Democrats in the 37th Senatorial District.
The full committee meets three times a year. Between meetings, members carry the party’s work back to county committees and campaigns.
State Committee elects the party’s chair and officers, holds nominating conventions, endorses candidates for statewide office, and writes and passes the platform.
From Democratic Party offices to township boards, campaigns, and community organizations, Lisa’s record is rooted in showing up and serving.

State Committee is not a title. It is the body that elects the party’s leadership, endorses its statewide candidates, writes its platform, and decides where its support goes. Here is what Lisa brings to each of those votes.
Lisa is a lifelong advocate for workers and for the right to organize, and an endorsement vote is where that gets tested. She backs candidates who will vote with working people in Harrisburg, and she says so before the roll call, not after.
Union-endorsed for State Committee, 2026Equality is written into the state party’s platform. Lisa’s job is to make sure the party’s endorsements and its candidates live up to it, in the boroughs and townships of the 37th as much as in the city, and to say so plainly at committee when they do not.
Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee, 2022 to presentIn Pennsylvania, reproductive freedom is decided by who holds Harrisburg. State Committee decides which Democrats carry the party’s endorsement and its resources into those races. Lisa uses her seat for candidates who are clear on it and will stay clear on it once elected.
Pennsylvania delegate for Kamala Harris, 2024Lisa comes to State Committee as an organizer, not a spectator. She managed the countywide campaign that put Judge Heather Schmidt Bresnahan on the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas in 2025, and she is on the ground for the 37th’s House candidates in 2026. She wants a state party that sends resources down to county committees and listens when they report back.
Campaign manager, Judge Heather Schmidt Bresnahan, 2025Organizations Lisa supports, ways she gives back, and opportunities to get to know the communities she serves mean a great deal to Lisa. She believes you can’t be in community without knowing the community.
From supporting local organizations and causes to Lunch with Lisa and simply showing up, Lisa believes making connections, listening, learning and being present is where doing some good begins, and never stops.
Good stuff is coming. And it is coming soon.
