Why I'm Running

Life costs too much. I'll fight to fix that.

Pennsylvania's minimum wage has been stuck at $7.25 since 2009. There's no paid sick leave law. And healthcare premiums keep going up while coverage gets worse.

Working families across the 59th are struggling — and Harrisburg isn't helping. It's time for that to change.

I'm running because our district deserves someone who'll actually fight for working families — not protect the wealthy and well-connected.

You shouldn't have to choose between groceries and medicine. Here's how we fix it.

Raise the Minimum Wage

A $15 wage would lift 150,000+ workers out of poverty and inject $1.7 billion into PA's economy. Every neighboring state has acted — it's time for Pennsylvania.

Paid Sick Leave

PA has no paid sick leave law — Westmoreland workers have zero protections. 18 states have figured this out, and 81% of PA voters support it. You shouldn't lose pay when you're sick.

Stop the Premium Crisis

Healthcare premiums keep rising while coverage gets worse. Working families deserve affordable care — Lisa will fight to protect your healthcare and lower costs.

Fund Our Schools Fairly

The courts ruled PA's school funding is unconstitutional. Our kids deserve fair funding, and Democrats are fighting to fix it. Lisa will too.

Reproductive Freedom

63% of Pennsylvanians support reproductive freedom. Lisa will stand with the majority and protect your right to make your own healthcare decisions.

Lisa Gephart was raised in southwestern Pennsylvania. She graduated from Connellsville High School, then went back to school while working full-time — because she knows what it takes to get ahead.

Growing up in a union household, Lisa learned early: you don't get anywhere without a fight. That's why she's spent her life standing up for working people.

A lifelong Democrat, Lisa serves on both the Westmoreland County Democratic Committee and the Pennsylvania State Democratic Committee. She's not new to this fight—she's ready to take it to Harrisburg.
